Procedure Note

If you allow your patrons to place holds on items, your staff will need to develop a workflow for how holds are handled. It is recommended that the Picking List be run at the start of each day so that newly placed holds can be gathered from the stacks. Any holds that patrons have previously placed using the Hold for Future Date feature will also appear on this list when their preferred date arrives.

Once items are gathered from the stacks, each resource needs be to Checked In. This process will generate a Hold Slip to place in each item, which will aid your staff in quickly locating the item for checkout once the patron arrives.
