Patron Photos

Adding photos to your patron records makes it easy to positively identify patrons at the circulation desk and can also be included on patron cards printed by Surpass Cloud.

There are two ways to add photos to your patron records:

Manually Adding Patron Photos

You can add photos to individual patron records from the Patrons : View page. Find the patron record you want to edit, go into Edit mode, click the photo frame, then select a photo file from your computer. The photo will then be added to the patron record, replacing any existing photo that might have been on the record.

Bulk Importing Patron Photos

Many professional photo services, such as Lifetouch, provide photo files in bulk. Surpass Cloud makes it exceedingly easy to import these photos, automatically adding or replacing the photos for the individual patrons.

The photo files must be named according to the patron numbers or alternate IDs, and they must be in .jpeg (.jpg) format. For example, the photo to import for patron #1234 must be named 1234.jpeg. Most photo services can provide the photos named this way for you as long as they are aware of the patron numbers when they are taking the photos.
