# Opticon Data Collectors

## Using Opticon Data Collectors with Surpass Cloud

Your Opticon data collector scanners can be used to scan barcodes for physical inventory. You use Opticon's software to read the barcodes from the scanners and create a file that can be uploaded to Surpass Cloud's [Resources : Inventory : Take Inventory](/docs/inv-take) page for processing.

          Requirements

The following instructions apply to Opticon Models OPH-1004, OPH-1005, and DCL-1530, and requires a computer running Windows.

## Setup

The setup steps need to be performed only once on each computer that will be used.

#### 1. Download and install the Opticon software

#### 4. Create a Folder on your computer for Surpass Inventory files

Example: `C:\Surpass Inventory`

#### 5. Open Net032 and select Tools > Options
